Olivier was born close to Paris in December 1968 .
He started drawing and painting as a teenager and continued his passion
although he never had any formal tuition in art.
His second passion, that of sailing, then took over and enabled him to travel
the world,
opening his eyes to its beauty and diversity.
His sketchbook and camera were with him at all times…
After 17 years at sea skippering and racing various classic and modern sailing
yachts
around the world, he decided to spend more time ashore after becoming a
happy daddy.
Olivier had more time, more inspiration and more room for his passion for
the arts and decided to paint full time at the beginning of 2005 while living
in Menorca with his family on their converted fishing boat. He is now living
in France, near Albi, painting and converting an old farmhouse.
Olivier is a versatile contemporary artist working and experimenting with
various mediums: oils , digital & computer art derived from his own
photographs , Hessian and wood...
His work covers many different themes such as portraits, nudes, marine art,
contemporary styles, abstracts (both representational and non-objective).
His brilliant and successful play with color, line, light and form makes
his art both exceptional and engaging.
His digital art:
Every piece of art is unique and conceived in the following mode:
the beginning is a photograph that he has taken, which is then developed
through
a complex digital elaboration.
On demand, each piece of art is printed on canvas and then signed, numbered
and
guaranteed by Vil. Each print is part of a limited edition of 22.
Olivier est né a paris en 1968.
Il commença a dessiner et peindre adolescent et a poursuivi sa
passion en tant qu’autodidacte, expérimentant sans cesse
avec de nouvelles techniques.
Sa deuxième passion, celle de la voile, a ensuite pris le dessus
et lui permis de parcourir les mers, l’ouvrant a la beauté
et a la diversité de notre monde. Son carnet de voyage et son appareil
photo ne le quittaient jamais…
Apres 17 ans en mer sur divers voiliers classiques et modernes, il décida
de devenir terrien après être devenu un heureux papa.
Olivier eut plus de temps, plus d’inspiration et aussi plus de place
pour sa passion de l’art et décida de peindre professionnellement
début 2005 pendant qu’il habitait avec sa famille aux Baléares
sur son bateau de pêche converti. Il habite maintenant près
d’Albi, alliant peinture et rénovation d’un corps de
ferme.
Olivier est un artiste contemporain qui travaille et expérimente
divers mediums: huile, jute, bois, art digital tiré de ses propres
photos…
Son travail couvre de nombreux thèmes: portraits, nus, marines,
abstraits et figuratifs.
Un cadrage hors normes et un jeu entre lumière et lignes brutes
confèrent a son art un style particulier.
Son art digital:
Chaque pièce est unique et concue de la facn suivante: au départ
une photo prise par Olivier qui est ensuite retravaillée et developpée
par un processus digital complexe.
Chaque pièce est ensuite imprimée sur toile sur commande,
signée, numérotée et garantie par Vil. Chaque pièce
fait partie d'une série limitée de 22.
